The Hutchinson Chamber and Tom Wort are facilitating the development of a “Center for the Arts”. This organization is a 501(c)(3). The basic concept is to develop an organization that can: bring the various arts organization in the Hutchinson area together; share resources; lower operating costs; and secure greater resources than each can alone. Each participating organization will maintain its own general operating and financial autonomy. The “Center for the Arts” organization is to be self-funded. One member from each member organization plus five additional individuals from the area will form the board for the umbrella organization. The Crow River Arts board is seeking an individual to represent CRA on the Center for the Arts board. This individual will be part of CRA’s board, but this will be their primary responsibility as a CRA board member. Please contact CRA if you are interested in this board position.
Annual Meeting Change
CRA’s fiscal year is June 1 through May 31. For the past several years, the annual meeting has been held in January. The board is proposing to shorten the time between the fiscal year end and the annual meeting by moving the annual meeting to late September. The change will allow for more timely communication of activities, finances, plans, etc. Please contact the board members with suggestions to make the annual meeting effective and valuable to members.
The Youth Art Exhibit is scheduled for April and May (see Art Calendar for dates and times) at the Hutch Mall. Several area schools are participating. Plan on attending this great event!
